Nika Gietz employs a naïve yet striking visual language in her artistic work. Her creations are uniquely abstract, via reduced shapes and colors. Complex experiences of daily life, non-stop influx of information get depicted by the artist through symbols. All gets focused, boiled-down to a visual minimum, to show what is relevant.
Nika Gietz’ subject matter are her immediate surroundings: Buildings, landscapes and its details, at times figures. Nika creates a visual world in her art-series by arranging and re-arranging these, showing art full of striking, symbol-rich components.
Via meditative, focused, structured work, and colored pens on paper as her preferred medium, Nika achieves dynamic, contrast-rich, beautifully composed artworks.
